About the Journal

The International Journal of Music Pedagogy (IJMuP) is and open-minded academic journal dedicated to the advancement of music pedagogy in all its facets, embracing both non-traditional and traditional forms. With a focus on pedagogy and innovation in the classroom, the journal aims to foster access, equity, and inclusion, while exploring emerging areas such as multicultural teaching, online pedagogy of music, and other novel subsets pertinent to 21st-century training of future musical creators.

As a double-blind reviewed journal, the International Journal of Music Pedagogy (IJMuP) provides an intellectual platform for researchers, scholars, educators, and practitioners to engage in rigorous discourse and inquiry. The journal encourages the submission of research papers, interviews, classroom experiences, and book reviews, encompassing a wide range of topics related to music pedagogy, including the philosophy of musical pedagogy, curriculum development, pedagogy of musical language and instruments, teaching of theoretical content, leadership in music schools and conservatories, among many others.

With biannual publication in January and July, the International Journal of Music Pedagogy (IJMuP) welcomes scientific communications in all languages. It actively seeks classroom experiences, proposals for teaching materials, strategies, and educational resources that have been piloted, as well as applied bibliographic reviews.
