The International Journal of Music Entrepreneurship & Leadership (IJMEL)
We are delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new publication, the International Journal of Music Entrepreneurship & Leadership (IJMEL), by the Global Institute for Music Research. This prestigious scholarly journal focuses on original scholarship at the intersection of music, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
The IJMEL explores a diverse range of topics, including entrepreneurship theory as applied to music, music entrepreneurship education, music management, music and creative industries, public policy and music, music in community and economic development, nonprofit leadership, social entrepreneurship in or using music, evaluation and assessment, and public practice in music. We actively seek articles that bridge theory with practice, offering valuable insights to our broad readership. Whether you are a music entrepreneur with self-reflective studies or a scholar conducting empirical research, all contributions that link theory and practice are equally welcome.
With a strong emphasis on intercultural perspectives and intercontinental collaborations, the journal also explores the conceptual, pedagogical, philosophical, and historical foundations of the field. It aims to illuminate the connections between music production, education, policy, and business disciplines. The IJMEL delves into emerging areas such as the digital creative economy, migrational entrepreneurship, and digital entrepreneurship, while addressing policy issues and the importance of music entrepreneurship education. Leadership topics play a vital role, recognizing the significance of effective leadership in the music entrepreneurship landscape. The journal invites submissions that examine leadership in various contexts, providing a platform to develop frameworks, test theories, and explore innovative approaches to music entrepreneurship and leadership.
